The distinctive character of this Yew piece showcases the wood's remarkable natural beauty. Yew is renowned for its stunning contrast between the pale sapwood and rich, deep red-brown heartwood, creating dramatic colour variations throughout each piece. The tight, interlocking grain patterns are a hallmark of this ancient species, often displaying beautiful flame-like figuring and occasional burr formations. These burr patches, with their intricate swirling grain, are particularly prized in Yew and occur naturally as the tree responds to stress or injury over its centuries-long lifespan, while the live edge preserves the tree's original form and character.
This table sits on industrial steel box section legs with two finish options and two height options. Clear coat lacquer giving a beautiful raw steel finish or black powder coat providing a high quality smooth finish. For our translucent river tables we cut the centre out of the fixing plate. This is so you do not see the leg mounting plate through the river. Leg height can either be 86cm, perfect for sitting above radiators; or 71cm which is around dining table height.
