The darker shade of brown oak is created by the Beef Steak Fungus. When the oak trees are standing the fruiting bodies of beef cake fungus form large brackets that can often be seen at the base of older oak trees in the late summer and autumn months. Their are also several burr patches on this piece. These knurled patches of grain are created by epicormic growth which is often prolific on English oak.
This table sits on industrial steel box section legs with two finish options and two height options. Clear coat lacquer giving a beautiful raw steel finish or black powder coat providing a high quality smooth finish. For our translucent river tables we cut the centre out of the fixing plate. This is so you do not see the leg mounting plate through the river. Leg height can either be 86cm, perfect for sitting above radiators; or 71cm which is around dining table height.
